Texas Lacrosse 2007

Longhorn Classic Recap
Posted December 14, 2007

Texas Lacrosse was pleased to host the annual Longhorn Classic for middle and high school teams the weekend of December 1st and 2nd. Forty-six teams traveled from all over the state and even from as far as Shreveport, Louisiana, to get a chance to face competition from both traditional rivals and teams they might not normally play against in-season. In a hard fought varsity final, The Woodlands staged a comeback to defeat McNeil. Plano High were champions of the JV bracket and the middle school group played a round robin schedule that fostered some spirited competition. Texas coaches also took the opportunity to scout several high school players whom they hope will bring their talent to UT as future Longhorns. The team would like to especially recognize tournament directors Billy Forrest and Bryan Howe for all their hard work to ensure a smooth weekend. Thanks to all the players, fans, and coaches for participating, showing exceptional sportsmanship, and making the weekend such a successful fundraiser!
