The Horns wrapped up their fall practice season this week, as winter
vacation draws near. The fall proved to be a test for the young team, as a
strong freshman class had to adjust to compete at the college level.
Open starting spots have
left rookies and vets alike clawing to fill the void, which kept fall practice
performances competitive and crucial come spring. Even with all the internal
competition, the team has made great strides in building chemistry and the
players are ready to improve as individuals over the winter break.
Two weekends
of tournament hosting are all that's left, with the High School Longhorn Classic
set to be played the first weekend of December, and the men's club level
tournament following the next week. Poised and focused on succeeding in the
spring, the Longhorns will look to defend their LSA title and advance to the
National Championships again, starting with a January 20th scrimmage against
Southwestern University. Hook 'Em!
