This past Saturday, October 28, the Texas Men's Lacrosse Team held their
annual alumni lacrosse game. However, on Friday, Texas coach Jonathan
Nickel won a golf tournament composed of alumni and coaches, which we
hope becomes a yearly tradition. The tournament took place at the Kizer
golf course in Austin and benefited this year's club team. The next
afternoon, numerous alumni from across the country challenged the
current team to a well-played game as the Texas team prepares for its
upcoming season. Fans came out to support both groups, and afterwards
everyone was invited to the home of Travis McShane and Dennis
Sukholutsky for barbecue and the football game. Starting attackman
Evans Swann looked great as he returned from illness, and rookies Tyler Nix
and Tyler Cross contributed heavily to the attackmen's success. Paul
McCloud, RJ Broderick, and Brian Howe picked up where they left off
from last year at midfield, and it appears Max Atherton, Dennis, Ernst
Leiss, and Jimmy LeSassier will suffocate and frustrate opposing attackmen.
Will Todd, Erick Sanchez, and Towers Wilen all looked great in goal.
We appreciate the planning of Zac Wilson, who coordinated the exciting
weekend. In addition, we would like to thank each alum who donated his time to support the club team. We look
forward to ensuring that Texas dominance in the Lone Star Alliance
continues this season.
