Texas Lacrosse 2007

UT overpowers the Baylor Bears
Posted March 29, 2006

Following the Second Annual Warrior Longhorn Youth Lacrosse Clinic, Texas hosted Baylor in front of a large crowd on Saturday. Though obtaining possession at the first whistle, the Longhorns quickly saw the ball swing to the other end. In an unfortunate start, the Horns allowed Baylor to capture the lead. However, Texas fought back to tie the first quarter at 2-2. In the second quarter, Texas’ offense began to warm up taking the lead over Baylor, 6-4, at halftime. After the break, the Horns aimed to put the Bears out of reach. Sophomore RJ Broderick helped out the Texas cause with two goals. With Broderick and the aid of his teammates, the lead pushed to 15-7 late in the fourth quarter. The final score: 15-9; Texas over Baylor.

This week the Longhorns prepare for their last home game of the season against the Texas A&M Aggies. The Aggies are expected to bring tough rivalry competition to Austin after their loss to Texas last year in College Station. Texas, on its march to Dallas, hopes to prove its dominance this year in the LSA. However, in a game where history and rankings go out the window, the winner of this game will be the team with more heart. This game is one that no Longhorn Lacrosse fan should miss. Game time: Friday night at 7:00 P.M. at the IM Fields.
